The Department of Civil Aviation is the aviation safety and regulatory authority of the country. It is also responsible for Promotion of aviation sector in the state,Airport development and Management,and for Providing Air Navigation services.

The Department is currently headed by the Director General of Civil Aviation and is under the Ministry of Information and Communications(MoIC)

Domestic Air Service launched on December 17

As planned the Domestic Air service was launched successfully on 104th National Day. Druk Air flew its ATR-42 from Paro to Yonphula Domestic Airport to Bumthang bathpalathang Airport and back to Paro whereas Tashi Air's Pilatus PC-12 flew from Paro to Bumthang and returned back to Paro.

Druk Air plans two new routes from next summer
