         Paro Airport
Paro international Airport is the only airport in the country. It is maintained and run by the Department of Civil Aviation. An airstrip was
constructed as far back as in 1968 but the airport entered commercial service only in 1983. The airport has two operational runway ends
located at 7300fts. above the sea level. With the runway length of only 1985 mtrs and very high hills surrounding the airport it is one of the
most challanging airports to fly into. The flight into the deep and beautiful valley of paro itself is an exiliherating experience.

The terminal building commissioned in the year 1999 was designed to offers visitors the first glimps of the unique architectural heritage of
the nation. Our efforts are dedicated in keeping the airport as beautiful and as modern as it is Bhutanes without having to compromise on passanger convenience.

For furthur details about the airport read the Paro Aerodrome information.
